Took this photo of Chinaman's Hat several weeks ago with my holga. Film: Kodak EPP 120 format; cross processed.
I'm so glad it's Friday... it's been a tough week and it's only going to get worse from here on... hope the weekend makes up for it.
Have a great weekend!
My husband and I visited the Byodo-In Temple in Valley of the Temples Memorial Park this past Sunday... I'm slightly ashamed to admit that I don't recall ever visiting there before, although I do remember seeing it on an episode of Lost, "House of the Rising Sun" in season one as the home of Sun's father. It's a beautiful temple... definitely worth visiting if you're in the area. These are a few photos I took there with my Holga.
I developed 8 rolls of film yesterday... most of the photos were taken this past weekend on an adventure around the Island. As my husband drove aimlessly with no destination in mind, I enjoyed the scenery and looked for potential photo opportunities... stopping off here and there. It was kind of nice... more for me since I wasn't the one driving... hehe. I wanted to try out some different types of film that I had never tried before, so I had purchased one box of Kodak E100G and one box of Kodak EPP film in 120 format for my Holga, and had them cross-processed... I was quite pleased with the results. I also took some photos with my Blackbird Fly TLR camera that I bought in Japan and my Diana+, which was loaded with some black & white film. I'll be posting photos periodically... stay tuned...
Things continue to look bright! Why's that, you ask? The answer is quite simple... because today is my last day of work before heading to Japan with my husband for our honeymoon. We leave on Thursday and I'm really looking forward to it. Tomorrow will be a day of packing and last minute things. I will also have to turn in my final Illustrator Project to my Digital Arts Instructor tomorrow. I'm very happy with how it came out... I'll share it with you in the near future. I'll try my best to update my blog from Japan! Till we meet again...

Work and school has been keeping me busy lately... sorry for the lack of posts and picture taking. It's been a while since I've had a chance to take pictures... in due time, my friends... in due time. Soon I will be going to Japan, and my 5dMII will literally be my conjoined twin during the entire trip. I will not hold back, that's for sure. I plan on packing light in clothing and heavy in camera gear... camera bag, different lens and my one and only Manfrotto tripod. I'm really looking forward to this trip... can't wait!
On another positive note, I got my Visual Arts"Screaming Silence" assignment back from my teacher yesterday. My teacher really liked it and found it very interesting... in fact, when I got to class early and headed for my seat, the teacher saw me and immediately said how interesting and scary my project was. She said she didn't realize that there was such a condition known as "Sleep Paralysis" and continued to ask me questions about when I got these dreams. She also liked that I included my poem in it. This project was worth 8 points, and she gave 8 plus an extra bonus point! That made me very happy. It felt good that she identified me through my project and knows who I am. It must be hard to remember each student's names in your class... I'm so bad with names, I can't even imagine trying to remember a whole classroom of students. Glad she remembers my name and liked my project.

I'll be busy doing two composition sketches this weekend for my Illustrator Project. My character and scene is slowly but surely coming to life. Can't wait.
Have a great weekend!

Here's a shot I took of Epcot Center on my Holga. The clouds hovering over the giant golf ball reminds me of electrical waves inside of an electric crystal ball...
