If I could have been any mutant of my choice on the night of 3DEEP, I would have been that guy on X-Men: The Last Stand, who robbed seven banks all at the same time… that way, I could have been at all three venues at once!

I may be jet lagged still... but I am not missing 3DEEP tonight! Can't wait!

Two months ago (on Friday, July 24th to be exact) my husband and I hit the Downtown scene to check out 'The Opening' at The Loft. Local bands competed for the opening slot for Modest Mouse on September 9th at Pipeline Cafe. Some of the bands featured were: Our Distance, Girlfriends, Painted Highways and Clones of the Queen. Unfortunately, I didn't make it in time to see all of the bands. I caught the tail end of Girlfriends' set... they ended up being the winners of The Opening battle... too bad I didn't get to see their whole set. The only band I saw from beginning to end was Painted Highways, and I gotta say... I enjoyed them very much! Hope to see more of them around. The other day, Michael of Painted Highways came across my "Tuning Everything Out" photo in my flickr photostream... he said it took him a minute to realize that it was his arm in the picture... wanking with his pedals at The Loft that night. I had taken a bunch of photos of them that night, but hadn't uploaded them yet. I promised him I'd upload them to flickr... and as of today, the pictures are up as promised. Check them out here!

Doris Duke Theatre @ The Honolulu Academy of Arts was packed for the Icons2 video premiere this past Friday night! I read several tweets on twitter that a bunch of people couldn’t even get in because it was sold out! The video was sick… thanks Lance! We headed over to the after party at Thirtynine Hotel for some drinks, more Icons2, and some good ass music! Here are a few random pictures I took of the night…

Dj Kause spun at Mercury Bar this past First Friday in Downtown Honolulu. It's been a while since he's made an appearance, and it was the perfect opportunity for me to go out and test my new flash. Afterward, we stopped by that new club Soho, a.k.a. the old Club Pauahi. It looks so different in there... pretty cool... Dean and I were calling it "Sohowaiian" all night. Haha. Here are a few random photos I took that night... I wasn't comfortable taking people shots, so I mostly took photos of alcoholic beverages instead. Enjoy.

Dj Kause rippin' it up... "Oh my God, that's the funky shit"...
