A few very random photos from this past weekend...

Took this photo with my Diana+ at Lighthouse last weekend. So glad today is Friday and another weekend lies ahead... I wish weekends consisted of 5 days and the work week consisted of only 2 days instead... that'd be nice.

Have a great weekend!

I survived the week... have a great weekend everyone!

Well, I'd like to HOPE that the weekend will be a relaxing one.
I'll be catching up on my school assignment since I missed class last week due my sickness!

Hope you all have a great one... Happy Weekend!

This past weekend went by too fast! On Friday night we hit the Downtown scene to check out The Opening at the Loft. "The Opening is a music showcase where local bands can compete for the opening slot for Modest Mouse on September 9th at Pipeline Cafe. It's an event that can give local bands an opportunity to play along side a headlining talent - an opportunity that can be a turning point in a band's history. Most upcoming bands get their break because they became friends with a headliner. The Opening can be their starting point. Let's give local bands the much deserved boost they need." Some of the bands featured were: Our Distance, Girlfriends, Painted Highways and Clones of the Queen. Unfortunately, I didn't make it in time to see all of the bands. I caught the tail end of Girlfriends' set... they ended up being the winners of The Opening battle... too bad I didn't get to see their whole set. The only band I saw from beginning to end was Painted Highways, and I gotta say... I enjoyed them very much! Hope to see more of them around.

Saturday was a mellow day, which was nice and very much needed. I got my TB shot in the morning at Kaiser because I need to get my TB clearance to go back to school. I've decided to register at Kapi'olani Community College and enroll in their New Media Arts : Interface Design Program. I plan to take night classes after work... hopefully I can get in for Fall 2009 Semester, but if it's too late, then Spring 2010. After getting my TB shot, we spent a relaxing day hanging out & cooling off at The Heatery (oxymoron), with the AC blasting. Dean's sister, Sarah, came over and hung out with us for the day, which was pure awesomeness! We watched several back to back episodes of "My Holiday Hostage Hell", then decided to silence our growling tummies with some oishii ramen, fried chicken, gyoza, fried rice and extra garlic at Tenkaippin! Yummm! We stopped off at the Public Library on the way home, where Sarah returned old dvds and borrowed new ones, then enjoyed watching Amelie back at Dean's studio! I love that movie.

On Sunday, we went to our friend's, Lan & Donovan's baby shower at Waioli Tea Room in Manoa. The shower was great... everything was perfect, and it was so good to catch up with old friends (and no, I DON'T mean old as in age-wise... you know what I mean). After the shower, Dean and I headed back to The Heatery and got to work on our computers. We bought bigger hard drives and Dr. Dean performed surgery on both our laptops. After backing up all our files, he installed new Western Digital 500gb hard drives on his MacBook and on my MacBook Pro. Feels so good to have a clean, new laptop with way more storage space! I'm not even sure what I'm going to do with all that space, but it'll be great to have since I've been taking an insane amount of photos lately. Overall, it was a good weekend... already looking forward to next weekend! Manoa Obon Festival and Honolul Family Festival, here we come...

I love the weekends... however, that wasn't always the case... back when I worked in retail, the weekends consisted of our store being jam-packed full of customers, messy racks, huge piles of clothes, and the infamous last minute shoppers ruining your chances of getting out early. BUT, now that I have a regular Monday-Friday job with Saturdays and Sundays off, I value the weekends so much more! Today was a good day, woke up early, but stayed in bed & watched Austin Steven the Snakemaster on Animal Planet, as he set out on a two month journey in Peru in search of the world's heaviest snake, a.k.a. the Green Anaconda. That guys is crazy... it was my first time ever seeing that show... I had never heard of Austin Steven before! Had a sausage McMuffin from McDonald's for breakfast, then went straight to work on cleaning the entire house. Phew... glad we got that done... feels good when you cross things off of your 'To-Do' list. Relaxed a bit after that, then got ready and headed over to Dole Cannery Regal Theaters and watched The Hangover. That movie is seriously one of the funniest movies I've seen in a long time! Dean and I couldn't stop laughing... we'll definitely be picking that up on DVD or BlueRay when it comes out! If you haven't seen it yet, go see it! You won't be sorry! We contemplated sneaking into another movie right after, but decided against it... guilty conscience I guess... heh. Stopped over at BestBuy on the way home and picked me up a Samsung WEP350 Bluetooth headset... Hawaii finally passed a law to ban the use of cellphones while driving, unless, you are using a hands free device. Overall, it was a nice day today, spent with my husband. One more day of freedom and relaxation... gonna soak it up! Hope you all had a great day! So glad the tradewinds are back... feels so nice!
