I picked up an external flash for my Canon camera today, the Speedlite 580EX II. I normally don't use flash in my photos, however, after missing many photographic opportunities at my niece's wedding in Florida due to a lack of light at the venue, I realized that an external flash may come in handy after all. In low/dark lighting conditions, the normal pop up flash on my Xti just isn't enough. It's too bad I didn't make the purchase before my Florida trip so I could have taken some night shots there, but I will make great use of it on my trip to Japan in October.... we're planning to go there for our honeymoon. Can't wait! Anyway, here's a test shot I took today with my Canon Xti equipped with my new external flash.
