My old MacBook Pro's screen crapped out on me this weekend... and right before my upcoming trip to Japan. I took it to the Apple Store in hopes that they could fix it in time for my trip on Thursday.... no luck. Genius Bar said that it seems to be the graphics card that messed up and the logic board will have to be replaced. Thing is... none of the stores in Hawaii have the logic board parts in stock, so my laptop would have to be sent out to the mainland to fix... and it won't be done in time for my trip. Bummahs. SO... after being pretty bummed out about it for the entire afternoon... I began to get a tingly feeling in my stomach... and a little voice in my head told me to buy a new laptop and sell the old one after I fix it. This tingly feeling and little voice was so overpowering that I felt compelled to do it... and thus... my new best friend came home with me from the Apple Store yesterday. I am now the happy owner of a brand new, super sexy Apple MacBook Pro 15-inch Antiglare Widescreen Display, 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM, 500GB Serial ATA Drive @ 5400 rpm laptop! Oh, and I forgot to mention that they were having the "$100 rebate" promotion if you buy a printer as well... so I got the $100 HP Photosmart C4680 All-in-One Printer so that I can get my rebate and end up with a free printer in the end. This is great because Dean's studio doesn't have a printer and there have been times that I could have really used one when doing homework there. Phew... glad I got a laptop to take with me to Japan! Thank God for credit cards and student IDs. I love you, MacBook Pro!
